“My father, who as you know, was brought up as an orthodox Jew, converted to Roman Catholicism after meeting my mom. You can just imagine. My father never discussed his family. As a matter of fact, he never told us he was Jewish and I only found out because when I was in college I worked for Hillel (I was a Judaic Studies major at George Washington University) and the rabbi there simply could not accept the fact that I, Nancy Bloom, was a Catholic. He was sorta' right. I asked my aunt on my mother's side, and she also could not believe that we hadn't been told. However, I was raised as a Catholic, went to Catholic school and dropped out of any relationship to religion by the time I was 14.” [1]
