- First born of union between Hazel Handforth and Abraham Boehm, b.1905 (?) (circa), followed by three siblings in this order: "Big" Alzira, Rebecca (Becky), and Rachael (Rakey) - born Feb 21, 1912.
Became both Big Brother to his sisters and a very young "man of the house" at an early age, while living in Montana, 1912-1917 approx., Then, on their move back east to Baltimore (end of WW I), had various jobs to help support family while in his early teens.
Left for New York City in late teens, then traveled the world on ships for several years. Attended Harvard University for undergraduate degree.
Was in the Merchant Marine (years?), attended Antioch College in the mid-1930's where he started a long standing Friday night institution, the Antioch Motion Picture Association that
showed free avant garde films to students.At some point (year?) married to Verna Askey.
Became a teacher at the Verde Valley School in Sedona AZ (year?) for many years. Was Dean of Humanities at Palomar College.
Fathered three children with Verna, in this order: Christopher, Tina, Deborah.
