  Invented shatterproof glass which led to the development of bulletproof glass. Had glass factory (Bartelstone Glass) on Long Island and the Bronx, used to put glass on railroad tracks. Had no patent, invited Pittsburgh Glass to see it and they took the invention and copied it. [1]
