- Uncertainty re Issy Miller, Elsie Miller and Esther Miller:
Nathan I. Miller and Kate Bloom had a number of surviving children. In 1898, a girl named Issy Bloom was born to them (documented by the Worcester birth record).
When Nathan died in March of 1919, there was a list of heirs on the surrogat court petition with ages, including: Max (28), Irving (22), Harold (13), Abraham (31), Joseph (24), Sadie (29), Martha (19) and Esther (16). That would make a birth date for Esther as 1902-3. No Issy is listed.
In th 1915 Census, Esther Miller is listed as being 9 years old, giving her a birth date of around 1906.
“Elsie Nichols” was identified by Naomi Rothschild in a photo taken at the Miller table at her wedding to Carl Rothschild in 1946.
It seems unlikely that three official documents would have such significantly different birth dates if they were all the same person. On the other hand, if Issy is Elsie (which seems reasonable from the names), she would also have to be Esther to be listed as an heir to her father Nathan. [2, 4, 5]
